For a beginner nothing is more fun, & more motivating , than being able to actually play a song ! And for advanced students , theory & reading are introduced in the context of a particular piece , which gives a concrete focus & something to take home & practice.

I will download & learn songs that you suggest, as well as offer my own suggestions, to make a list custom tailored to you, beginning from the first day we talk!

Hi , I'm Roark Hunnicutt . I'm very experienced as a teacher, making my living in guitar instruction for 35 years .

Lessons are in my home studio , "Guitar Instruction-Roark's" , by Appointment Only , near Marengo Av & E Altadena Dr .

I believe in a full , one hour weekly private lesson, at a very reasonable rate of $35/hr. You're welcome to try one or two lessons, paying just $35 each time. After that the price is $140 for a set of 4 weekly lessons, paid in advance ; or $40/hr for lessons paid one at a time.

I am available all Day & Evenings: Weekdays & Weekends . Parents are welcome to stay .

I have a big collection of Recordings & Arrangements- no books needed on your part. I also teach from CD's you bring in! With this approach , many students participate with me & learn how to figure out music by ear.
