The Abe Train is a young professional and highly in demand Jazz Quartet based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Consisting of Piano, Upright Bass, Drums, and Saxophone, each member of the band is an expert at his instrument and together the band generates a dynamic and authentic Jazz sound, while constantly showcasing individuality in their music which is the main hallmark of Jazz. The band performs all the classics of Jazz with distinctive arrangements that are both faithful to the rich traditions of Jazz as well as innovative and original.

Performing professionally in the Bay Area since 2013, the band has been featured in almost every setting and event imaginable. The band has performed at numerous weddings, high profile corporate functions, parties, speakeasies, wineries, hotels, art galleries, restaurants, birthday parties, memorials, backyard barbeques, and even carnivals! The band has performed in venues big and small, from a house backyard to the Cliff House to the Starlight Room at Sir Francis Drake Hotel and beyond. The band is prepared for just about any situation when it comes to attire, attitude, and song selections!

While the core band constitutes the Quartet, the Abe Train works with various professional Bay Area musicians to augment the band to suit our clients' needs. From a solo piano background Jazz over dinner, to "getting it down" on the dance floor night, the band is able to work in many configurations - usually adding a professional guitarist and singer for a heavy duty dancing night. Any configuration of instruments can make great music, and the Abe Train strives to accomplish this every time.

The Abe Train is well versed in "Straight Ahead" Jazz with a repertoire that spans the last century of Jazz since its inception to the present day. The band's repertoire include selections from Louis Armstrong to Duke Ellington to Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, and Herbie Hancock. From Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald to Sinatra and Tony Bennett. The band is well versed in the different styles of Jazz, from swing to bebop to funk and beyond.
