Hello, I've recently moved to Boulder from Albuquerque to pursue grad school at Naropa, and am offering private guitar lessons. I've been playing guitar for over 15 years, and earned my B.A. in music at New Mexico Highlands University. I enjoy bringing a relaxed, creative, and supportive approach to teaching guitar, and finding ways to cater lessons to individual interests.
I am open to teaching in a variety of styles, including jazz, classical, blues, folk, fingerstyle, rock, etc. I also have a special interest in songwriting and exploring the use of the guitar for songwriting, and would be happy to work with anyone in expanding how they use the guitar with their own songs and playing with others. Also have experience with creating personal arrangements of popular songs for guitar. Open to a more structured or open-ended approach depending on individual interest, and deeply appreciate that guitar players are often very independent-minded.
