Just a bit about my company.

I am the owner/operator for 37 years. I offer installation of new floors, repair of old floors, dustless floor sanding using a truck mounted vacuum, and trim carpentry. We offer custom staining, oil based and water based finishes, flush vents, and custom floor design and inlays.

I work not just Ann Arbor but all over the tri-county area in Southeast Michigan. Prominent places I've worked include the University of Michigan Architectural Showcase, University of Michigan Library, University of Michigan Business School, the Hoover Mansion (for Group 243 an advertising company who does the advertising for Domino's pizza), Nectarine Ballroom, Bennigans Restaurant, Cobblestone Farm, and many others.

I have worked for many builders in the Ann Arbor area also such as Chizek Builders, Louie Marr Builders, Russel Adams Builders, Guenther Building Co., Behnke Building Co., John Young Co., just to name a few.

Dustless floor sanding is a big advance in the flooring industry. No more horror stories of houses with dust everywhere. Floor sanding machines have dust pick up into a bag on the machines that works pretty good except for the bag lets out the fine particles of dust , 10 microns and smaller, which are the size that will get caught in a persons lungs.
I can give you high quality sanding without the fine dust in the air. The vacuum system is about 99.7% or more dustless. I can provide many references from customers to back this up. While collecting the dust the vacuum also removes much of the smell caused from removing the old finish and wood. the house stays clean and the floors are smoother because of less dust particles settling in the finish. The sanding machines are connected by a hose to an powerful vacuum mounted in the van.
Right now the companies that offer true dustless floor sanding are very few. Some companies will tell you they have 98% dust collection using a bag on the machine which sounds about right. When sanding a good size living room about 40 gallons of dust will be collected. The 2% which is not collected is the most dangerous, super fine dust, and that would be blown all over the house. When sanding prefinished flooring with aluminum oxide finish using the vacuum becomes even more important to eliminate those airborne particles of aluminum oxide.

. I have a reputation for quality work that is done on time. The few companies that do offer dustless floor sanding and they usually have an extra charge of $1.00 per square foot or more for using the vacuum. I don't charge anything extra and use the vacuum on every job.

I also use a 12" wide hummel belt sander while most other companies use 8" wide machines. A wider machine sands the floor flatter giving a better appearance to the floor.
