Graduated top of my class with a double major in Physics and Mathematics from Saint Peter's University with a 3.7 GPA, plenty of research, scholarships, and activity (i.e. got a bronze medal in international university physics competition). I have over 7 years of experience tutoring in subjects including, but not limited to Quantitative GRE, SAT Math, SAT Math Subject, SAT Physics Subject, ACT Math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, pre-calculus, calculus, college calculus, AP statistics, college statistics, and physics. I have taught AP statistics, college statistics, college precalculus, geometry, and SAT math in a school setting.
I have worked with many students to improve their grades by two grade letters and their SAT by 200 points. I work diligently to ensure that every student gets a custom tailored plan that suits his or her strengths and weaknesses. I am available for tutoring in person and online as well.
My approach to tutoring is flexible and is based on the student's strength, difficulties, or preferences and will depend on the nature of the subject. I tend to favor a more patient and guided approach that will train the student to develop critical thinking and deep understanding of the concepts, rather than handing a series of facts to be memorized and regurgitated. Hence, I will work with the students to develop an understanding of why things are the way they are.
