I'm a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music with 20 years of full time teaching experience both privately and in various schools, studios and at Tri-C. I teach all levels and ages (10- adult). My expertise is in Acoustic Guitar, Nylon String Classical and Electric Guitar and includes Blues, Classical, Folk, Singer Songwriter, Rock, Country, Jam and Songwriting (in no particular order).

I've had many young students who've progressed to a performing level including one who won a "Grammy" recently. Also, I have many adult students who started with me in their 50's and 60's and in a short time were playing many of their favorite songs and improvising. You can learn to play at any age. Age doesn't make a difference! There's no time like now.

I believe playing music should be fun. I don't start the student with learning how to read music but instead I start the student off playing good songs (songs the student likes) by ear and some basic technical practices. After the student learns to play he/she can easily learn how to read music and study more advanced concepts of music (If they want to).

I teach both acoustic and electric guitar. They are basically the same instrument. The electric guitar tends to be a little easier to play in the beginning but the acoustic guitar can be easily taken and played anywhere....you don't need an amp or an electric outlet. The student should play the type of guitar they are interested in.

Each week at the lesson we'll work on the previous material and then add more to that lesson. You'll play the latest song that you learned and start a new one. I'll write down all lesson material and take a video of the material you need to practice. That's it...no boring method books.
