Hello everyone. I've been picking the 5 string banjo for over 25 years. I'm the only teacher in the area who has obtained a Bachelor of Music Composition degree using the banjo as my primary instrument. I teach all ages and any skill level.
Most teachers unknowingly focus on song memorization instead of teaching you to understand what you're truly playing. With me, you won't open a book of banjo tunes and just work on memorizing them. This doesn't teach you how to master your banjo. I will teach you all the songs you want to learn, but not someone else's rendition of them. You will make them your own. I teach how to master your banjo by knowing and understanding your fretboard inside and out.
I teach full time out of Knoxville, TN. Lessons can be scheduled from 8am through 10pm, 7 days a week. I don't require any commitment. Lessons are $20 per half hour and $30 per full hour.
