I am a piano tuner and technician and professional pianist with decades of experience.
I have tuned pianos for many years, but became a full-time technician in 1983. First, I tuned instruments throughout Galveston-Houston, then moved to Dallas in 2005 and have tuned hundreds of pianos throughout the Metroplex.
Grand pianos should be voiced every three to five years, depending on the amount they are played. Upright and spinet pianos less frequently. I recommend that voicing be scheduled to be done with the piano tuning, thereby saving an extra service charge.
