Hello! My name is Jon and I'm possibly your new best friend/favorite math tutor! I've got over six years (and thousands, if not tens of thousands of hours) of experience as a professional tutor! I've worked (and still work) for private businesses in and around Orange County as well as for the California Community College system (where I was first certified for tutoring)!
I do what I do for a simple reason: I love math and I love helping other people learn to love math (or at least tolerate and understand it enough to pass their tests/classes!). I've got a passion for tutoring and I'm fully capable of tutoring anything taught in middle school, high school, and community college (I currently cap out at Undergraduate Elective courses for Universities. . . But I'm working on that one)! I've been told I'm great at explaining things and understanding how to help people learn (NOT just memorize information) -- learning isn't "one size fits all" so I make it work for YOU!
During the school year, I'm usually completely booked between my two jobs (both tutoring related) and the private clients I work with (those 60 hr weeks can be killer). Fortunately, I've got a lighter load right now and I can take on more clients through finals time and over summer so I've decided to get out and see who needs help!
I have a flat rate of $50 per hour for any subject (I can help with things outside of math such as essays or other special projects -- but I feel I'm most useful as a math tutor)!
I'm looking for clients who prefer to maintain standing appointments on a weekly basis for as many hours as necessary to help you (or your child) succeed!
I'd like to keep my tutoring localized to Orange County; nevertheless, I'm pretty flexible on which cities I'll visit. We would likely make a mutual agreement on where we'd like to meet (usually either at your residence or at a nearby public place -- Coffee Bean is a fan favorite for new clients).
